The Culture of Collaboration During COVID-19

This month, a few members of the HITRUST Leadership Team, including Jeremy Huval, Chief Compliance Officer; Michael Parisi, Vice President of Assurance Strategy; and Bimal Sheth, Vice President of Assurance Services—along with Andrew Hicks from Fraser and Dieter—joined ITSP Magazine’s, “Their Story” podcast host, Sean Martin, to share how HITRUST responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and helped healthcare organizations in the U.S. uphold patient care and assurance quality. The theme of their story is ‘adapting to unpredictability without compromising quality.’

As the COVID-19 shutdown extended, HITRUST recognized the challenges that assessed entities might face in completing their HITRUST CSF Validated Assessments and the possible impact of not maintaining HITRUST CSF Certification. The team set out to find solutions, leading them to develop new approaches for extraordinary circumstances.

HITRUST did not want a healthcare organization on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic to have to choose between security or assurance. HITRUST knew it was possible to do both and set out to accomplish that through its new Bridge Assessment.
